The history behind these machines goes back much further than the CainCo name.
The slicer business has roots connected to Allbright-Nell Company, commonly known as ANCO, a historic manufacturer of food-processing and meat-slicing equipment.
Jack Holsen joined Allbright-Nell in 1959 and later purchased ANCO's Meat Slicing and Processing Division in 1980.
The Holsen family spent decades working with commercial and industrial food-processing equipment before the development of the compact automatic slicers that eventually became the DX Industrial Slicer line.
DX took that industrial slicing experience and applied it to a different market.
Instead of building only massive production machines for large processing plants, the goal was to create a compact automatic slicer that smaller operations could realistically own and operate.
That concept ultimately produced machines including the DX1000, DX2000 and DX3000.
Today, CainCo is continuing that slicer platform while bringing production and support to Wisconsin.
Decades of slicing heritage. A new generation of American-built equipment.
If you own a DX1000, DX2000 or DX3000 Industrial Slicer, you don't have to start over with a new company for support.
CainCo acquired the DX Industrial Slicers business and continues the slicer platform today with the CainCo C-Series Industrial Slicers.
The name has changed. The commitment to these machines hasn't.
CainCo continues to support legacy DX slicers with replacement parts, service, blade exchanges, technical assistance and equipment upgrades while manufacturing the next generation of these slicers as the CainCo C1000, C2000 and C3000.

DX Industrial Slicers manufactured automatic commercial and industrial slicing equipment in Normal, Illinois.
The DX line was designed to fill an important gap in food processing: provide the speed and consistency of an industrial slicer without requiring the size, power requirements or investment associated with many large production slicing systems.
DX developed compact automatic slicers capable of processing products such as:
The DX1000, DX2000 and DX3000 became popular with smaller and midsized food processors, meat markets, grocery stores, delis and restaurants looking to increase production while reducing the amount of hand slicing required.
In 2025, the DX slicer business was purchased by the Cain family and relocated from Illinois to Clear Lake, Wisconsin.
The slicers continue today under a new name:
The CainCo C1000 continues the compact slicer concept familiar to DX1000 owners.
The C1000 features a:
7" Wide × 4" High × 18" Long Product Feed
with slicing speeds of approximately:
300–600 slices per minute.
It operates on 120V power, allowing it to plug into a standard electrical outlet.
The C1000 is designed for businesses that need serious production capability without dedicating a huge amount of floor space to a slicer.
Applications can include:
Deli Meats • Jerky • Philly Steak • Cheese • Ham • Turkey • Roast Beef • Mongolian Beef & Pork • Natural Meats
Products can be sliced directly into tubs or trays for bulk processing or integrated with conveyor applications.
For many businesses currently operating a DX1000, the CainCo C1000 is the natural machine to consider when it is time to upgrade or add production capacity.
The DX2000 was known primarily as a bacon slicer.
That concept continues with the CainCo C2000 Automatic Bacon and Meat Slicer.
The C2000 provides a larger:
12" Wide × 4.5" High × 26" Long Product Feed
and operates at approximately:
300–600 slices per minute.
The C2000 also operates on 120V power.
While bacon remains one of its primary applications, the machine can be useful for other suitable boneless products, including:
Bacon • Brisket • Corned Beef • Roast Beef • Italian Beef • Philly Steak • Other Natural Meats
The C2000 can be configured for bulk slicing into tubs or trays and for conveyor applications.
If you're running a DX2000 today, contact CainCo before assuming you need to move to an entirely different slicing system.
We can help determine whether your existing DX can be serviced or whether moving to a new C2000 makes more sense for your operation.
For larger products and higher-capacity applications, CainCo offers the C3000 Automatic Industrial Slicer.
The C3000 features an:
8" Wide × 7" High × 18" Long Product Feed
and slicing speeds of approximately:
300–600 slices per minute.
Like the C1000 and C2000, the C3000 operates on 120V power.
The larger opening makes the C3000 an excellent option for suitable larger products such as:
Ham • Turkey • Roast Beef • Cheese • Natural Meats • Deli Products
For companies currently using a DX3000, the C3000 continues the high-capacity concept in the CainCo C-Series lineup.
There are DX Industrial Slicers still working every day in meat-processing facilities, delis, grocery stores, restaurants and meat markets.
CainCo hasn't forgotten about those machines.
